Bataknese Pre Wedding Session at Paleis Het Loo, The Netherlands

Every now and then I am reminded why I love what I do. I’ll be honest, sometimes the workload of being a photographer can become overwhelming, but sessions with sweet couples like Ingrid and Agung remind me that I am right where I am supposed to be - capturing love stories of soulmates.

Ingrid and Agung are originally from Indonesian and are Bataknese, but they met at a University in The Netherlands. <3 I was super excited when they reached out to me about booking a pre-wedding session. During our meeting they mentioned they wanted to somehow blend both Dutch and Indonesian culture, so we chose Paleis Het Loo, a Dutch palace built by the House of Orange-Nassau, as our location. Y’all, you have to visit! It’s such a stunning location. They also chose to wear an “Ulos”, a traditional Bataknese handwoven textile. Ulos are gifted as heirlooms to those during their rites of passage. And y’all everything just came together so beautifully that day. Can’t say enough great things about this session. <3

The following photos are just a small preview of their session! Enjoy <3
